The triumphal entry

The triumphal entry is mentioned one time in the old testament in Zechariah 9:9. It is mentioned four times in the new testament. It is found in Matthew 21:1 - 11, Mark 11:1 - 11, Luke 19:29 - 40, and John 12:12 - 15. It didn’t take a week for the multitude to go from cheering Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem, to freeing Barabbas and calling for Jesus to be crucified.
Now when He was in Jerusalem at the Passover, in the feast day, many believed in His name when they saw the miracles which He did. But Jesus did not commit Himself unto them, because He knew all men. And needed not that any should testify of man: for He knew what was in man.
John 2:23 - 25
If you love me, keep my commandments.
John 14:15
We think salvation is possible while we ignore every sermon Christ preached, parable He taught, and miracle He performed. Worship without obedience won’t accomplish anything. It doesn’t matter how passionately you sing if you steal and cheat on your mate.

=================
How is salvation possible? By following the commands of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Many rich people don't think that way. They think when they have so much money and power, that is their eternal joy and salvation.
Money could not make people happy. Very many wealthy people end up in pain and misery.

These are what Jesus said on the Beatitude:
The Sermon on the Mount: Matthew 5-7:
1. Seeing the crowds, he went up on the mountain, and when he sat down, his disciples came to him.

2 And he opened his mouth and taught them, saying:

3 “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

4 “Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.

5 “Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.

6 “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.

7 “Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy.

8 “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.

9 “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons[a] of God.

10 “Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

11 “Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account. 12 Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

This was the sermon for today in our church.

After the third Temple is rebuilt, the Messiah will enter Jerusalem on a donkey from the east. When this happens, he will be accepted and anointed by the Jews as King of the Universe. It is likely Elijah will accompany him. Jesus did not fulfill this prophecy. Instead of becoming King, Jesus was crucified, and died the "deaths of the uncircumcised". Ezekiel 28:10. It is true that the Jews would initially reject their Messiah, but they will come around when the Messiah comes with power. He will set his enemies on fire. Psalm 37:20, Psalm 97:3. The Messiah is Israeli, but not ethnically Jewish.
