My Husband was in the Navy also and he talked about swells so high they thought their ship was going to go down. They went clear up over the "ship" they were on!!

Reminds me of the typhoons the ship I was on had ridden out.
When going down a swell, all you can think of is, I hope this isn't the end!

At the end of WW2,My uncle,Robert H Rice,was returning to the states from the far east,after his boat was in the Atlantic,his boat ,the USS Warrington, sank during a hurricane,He went down with the ship,very few crewmembers survived.

Totally agree, Sir! I got Sub Pay for largely escaping that torture and always counted my blessings for not being on the surface!
