What's shameful, Bobby, is that the average household income has risen only 7% since 20 years ago (1997).
From my experience a bag of groceries runs about $40 these days (of course it varies a lot depending on what one is buying) and there are 4 bags in this photo, totaling $140. That's a 7-fold increase.

In 1968 my grandmother sold a hamburger with French fries at her restaurant for 85 cents and a milkshake was 50 cents. When I worked at a sawmill in the 70s I bought steak and eggs for breakfast for $2.50.. I remember 12 cent loaves of bread and raw milk for 50 cents per gallon. If we want to make America great again lets get prices back down.

Your math is a tad off. $40.00 X 4 bags = $160.00 I believe. $20.00 goes into $160.00 = 8 times.

Oh lordy! I better start using my calculator for even such simple math! I clearly can't do it in my head these days.
Thanks for the callout.

Don't worry we all do it and the older we get the more we do it. I'm 74 and make easy math mistakes a lot and I am/was a mechanical engineer.
