"wants to ban it"?.....{ or wallow in it}

Yes, they want to remove that something they don't like, so that no-one can enjoy it. Very strange attitude.

Dumed down? are you kidding? Do your daughters have to have things dumed down so they can understand?

You misspelled dumbed twice in a row. If you are going to be contentious, do try and spell it properly.

Have you seen the "requirements" for second class scouts now? It shouldn't be a problem for most girls anyway. When I was in the Boy Scouts, second class scout requirements included 5 5 mile hikes and one ten mile hike, cook a meal over a fire that you started with no more than 2 matches and use NO utensils to do it, Things like that. Is that too tough for today's little angels?
I only got as far as Life Scout, as basketball and cheerleaders started occupying more and more of my time that I would have spent working on Eagle.)

When I was in Basic Training, I slept through the map and compass orientation, because I had already learned it, better than the Army taught it, while working on my Second Class Scout. I knew little tricks about camping comfort that helped a lot during some of our time in the field in some damn rotten weather.
True story, our platoon was divided up into 2 man teams for the map and compass testing. My buddy and I (he had also been a scout in Florida) were the only team who recovered all 24 markers.

Damn shame. Eagle scout '63. All integrity and honor gone from this once-great program. Homogenous bullshit.

Not only are today's scouts going to sell cookies, they are going to bake them also.

Some of the "requirements" for today's Scouts sound like the Girl Scouts back in the sixties.
