Today has some interesting birthdays. In 1547, Miguel de Cervantes, author of the classic Don Quixote de la Mancha was born in Spain.
In 1758, Lord Horatio Nelson bawled his first, and .....
in 1907, our very own Gene Autry yodeled for the first time.

The following is 'The Yodeling Hobo,' by Gene Autry, although it sounds much like Jimmie Rodgers.

I really enjoyed that song and also listened to the Roy Rogers yodeling song. That takes some skill for sure

As always my friend you enlighten us and baffle us as well..
Jimmy Rogers was the father of country music and was from Mississippi. The Hag was my favorite entertainer, saw him perform three times. Loved it when he had his own show and imitated Marty Robins you couldn't tell the difference. A friend and I once argued who had the best and most well known country stars... he would name one from TX and I would name one from MS, he lost and it took him a while to get over it. Jimmy Rogers, Tammy Wynette, Conway Twitty, Elvis, Charlie Pride, Paul Overstreet, Leanne Rimes, Faith Hill, Brittany Spears, etc... wish I could have claimed George Straight though.

You should read the original version. It's about 600 pages.

I always appreciated Roy Rogers more.
Quite a few years ago, when my car radio died, I taught myself to yodel. My favorite was the Switzerland yodeling song. It sure surprised my husband's students on a field trip. And they thought I was only a Flamenco dancer.

I would not be surprised. Because of our having met, I know you to be much more than just a talented Flamenco dancer.
