We aren't at all. Minimum wage jobs are a starting point in life. They teach people skills, and work ethic. As they work these jobs, they can move up, or stay in place depending on their drive, and abilities.
Minimum wage jobs aren't a career path. Just a starting point.

What would you consider to be a living wage in America today?

Given that there are millions of people making minimum wage, or near to it, I think your career path assessment is a bit faulty. And if it were up to you conservatives minimum wage would still be 25cents. Forgive me if I don't take your post too seriously...

Why if wages go up the economy booms you can also raise taxes and pay for things like roads and bridges instead borrowing and raising debt
people with money buy things
Henry Ford's workers were paid A lot more then the avg worker because Ford knew if his workers couldn't afford to buy the cars they made he couldn't succeed

Yeah, it looks good on paper, but it will drive up prices, cut hours, and bankrupt small businesses.

Prices will go up but if I'm a baker and your a baker we pay our workers the same so nothing has changed except our workers can make a l iveing.
