My oldest brother leases land near Slaton Texas, to cotton farmers.

One of the farmers is one of my dad's best friends and his cotton fields are alongside a busy roadway.

This old farmer has commented, more than a few times, that black folks stop often to get souvenir samples of cotton plants.

So are we gonna allow these folks to tell us that owning a cotton plant is racist ?

Not me.

My father is a former cotton farmer and I can witness the fact that not all white folks who own cotton are racist.

My grandfather taught my father to farm and to live righteous.

There is no racism in a righteous man.

But I am forced to admit that my twice great grandfather did own slaves.

Everyone should learn to use a gun. It is one of the necessary skills a person needs to learn (like the Swiss). There seems to have been a major shift in thinking since the 1960s. I remember people going to school with guns on their rifle rack and even our High School had a shooting team with a range in the basement of the administration building. So what changed? It wasn't the guns. It is liberal ideology that changed people.
