I got 20 out of 20 correct and at age 74 that is pretty good.

20 of 20 at 76. But our ages aren't the real problem. We are older and learned. Those kids can't pass it and that is the problem.

We haven't seen any young whippersnappers on here taking that test have we.

I also got 20 out of 20, it did say the actual test did not have multiple choice, but I can't think of any of those questions where that would have mattered, other than with my sad memory in general I think I would have had to scratch around a couple of times

Older people learned something in school. Today, they go to college to get stupid.

I wouldn't say that. My gorge is rising from having to reply to you. If you wish to have a conversation, I have a couple of houseplants that are willing to spot you some IQ points to level the playing field.

The thistle that the neighbors goats eat would better the conversation with him.
I had gotten it to come up the first time, but it was not there the second time. Wonder which "progressive" removed it, never put that past them.

Just a silly little thought.
Maybe a good idea to have to take and pass the test before voting, or enrolling your kids in school and a host of other requirements that you should do to learn about the country in which you live.

I saw an example of what an eight grade exam for graduation was back in the late 1800s. It makes any pride in a high school graduation in the twentieth century kind of sad

Originally, voting was restricted to those who had something invested, therefore something to lose; property and business owners. Today, any illiterate dipstick who can fog a mirror and had the good fortune to be born here has the franchise. In many ways, LEGAL immigrants are far more responsible voters and more deserving of the vote than many native born. LEGAL immigrants care enough about this country to go through the bureaucratic song and dance required for citizenship and know more about our government and history than many who were born here.

I read that the average high school senior today graduates with what would have been considered a mediocre 7th or 8th grade education in the early seventies when I graduated. I believe it. These kids are helpless without a calculator. Give one a pen and paper, and ask them to diagram a sentence, extract a simple square root, or even solve a basic geometry problem or convert a decimal to a fraction, or metric to standard, and wait for that "deer in the headlights" look. (Did I say deer? I meant possum.)
