Muslim Activist Linda Sarsour Exploits Hurricane Harvey
Alexandra Desanctis, National Review: Linda Sarsour seems unable to pass up any opportunity to make a quick buck, even at the expense of vulnerable Americans. Her latest target? Caring people all across the country who are looking for ways to help the hundreds of thousands of Texans who have lost everything as the result of Hurricane Harvey.
Pamela Geller, Atlas Shrugs: Not one cent of the money Linda Sarsour is raising will be donated to people who have lost their cars, possessions, and even their entire homes. "Instead it’ll be poured straight into the pockets of activists such as Sarsour as they continue their political posturing, dividing the country over race and “inequality.”
*** Personally, I’m donating to The Salvation Army for the Hurricane Harvey victims –
I’m not affiliated with The Salvation Army in any way, except as an occasional donor; however, I speak confidently from prior experience with disasters of one kind or another, The Salvation Army are usually first to respond helping the ‘first responders’ and the victims with food, water, medical supplies, clothing and shelter. They dedicate a lot of their time, money and energy helping others. Often, they are the ‘unsung heroes’ of our society.
Another personal note: Please, don’t collect your garbage and send it to them to dispose. I’ve seen this too, where people use them as a convenience!!! You never know, one day you may need help!

The Salvation Army is good, and don't forget about Samaritan's Purse. They don't need shoes and clothing....they need money for meds and food, water, etc. They learned after Katrina, clothing donations were exactly as pullet said. Garbage. Things Goodwill would pass on.

Convoy of Hope is another good charity.
PulletSuprise, There are always people that will take advantage of these kinds of tragedies. Charities that claim they are trying to help vets are another scam. Only give through charities that you know and trust. Even then, it doesn't hurt to check them out.I gave through a special fund dedicated to helping the victims of Harvey through the Jewish Federation.
Giving through church charities in no guarantee of honesty. There are some that are scams as well. Check 'em out!

It doesn't hurt to shop their stores either. Some neat deals there from time to time too. They also have a central place where they sell motor vehicles too. I got two from them over the years.
