Open our eyes that we may see

Our ability to perceive reality is in the hands of the supernatural. This block of instruction is found in 2 Kings 6:13 - 23. We all have this illusion of control. We like to think we not only control our lives but somehow we can control the future. The truth is no one is clairvoyant and there are no guarantees. It’s best to do the best as you can to be as good as you can and let the chips fall where they may. In this lesson Elisha is summoned by the king of Syria. The king of Syria sends a small army for Elisha. Elisha’s servant sees the approaching Syrian army and gets afraid. Then Elisha tells his servant that the army on their side is larger than the Syrian army. The servant can’t see the army then Elisha prays for God to open the servants eyes and the servant sees the chariots of fire. Then Elisha prays for God to blind the eyes of the Syrians. This blindness must be of the minds ability to understand and not physical blindness because Elisha leads them to Israel, When they enter Samaria, Elisha prays for God to open the Syrians eyes so they may see and the Syrians realize they are in Samaria. Our ability to perceive is in the hands of the Lord. Unless God opens our eyes, we won’t realize the left is destroying this nation.
