God appeals to intellect

God appeals to intellect, satan appeals to emotion

The scriptural background for this lesson is Matthew 16:13 - 17 & 21 - 23. In three gospels after this lesson Jesus says to take up your cross and follow Him.
Verse 13
Jesus asks the disciples a question that makes them think. We should all use our higher intellect before speaking or committing an action based on emotion.
Verse 14
Don’t believe anything you hear, and half of what you see. Some shared ideas don’t make sense. There is group called black lives matter. They are blocking traffic because Trump won the election. If their own lives mattered to them they would get out of the street when they saw a car coming
Verse 15
What do you think of God? Who do you think Jesus is? Is your understanding of Him based on His word or what people dream up, the bible or traditions of men?
Verse 16
Peter saw the miracles and believed. We can know there is something about Jesus, because it has been around 2,000 years since the resurrection yet we are still talking about it. We can know there is something about the bible because since 1456, it has been the best seller every year, even today.
Verse 17
Peter saw Christ feed 5,000 men with a lunch meant for a small boy. He was the only person besides Jesus to walk on water. When Peter thought about it, there is no doubt Jesus is the one spoken of by scripture. God appeals to intellect.
Verse 21 - 23
Peter loves Jesus and doesn’t want to see Him hurt. He wants everyone to know Jesus like he knows Jesus. His response seems to be natural. Jesus doesn’t even speak to Peter. He knows who is motivating Peter to say what he is saying. Satan tried to sway Jesus using Peter’s emotional response.

P.S.
While we all know Jesus died, how many of us know we should follow Christ and be persecuted and killed also? The concept of being saved or lost, divides us and makes us think some of us please God more than others. That this life can be an indicator of salvation. This doesn’t make sense. Satan deceives the whole world according to Revelation 12:9. If you are teaching truth it will not be accepted by those that believe traditions of men. Do you think Flava Flav is saved or that God blessed Lebron James with basketball skills because he paid tithes?

God appeals to intellect, satan appeals to emotion... (show quote)

Any belief in the supernatural is based on irrationalism. There is not a single emotion out there that is rational. The definition of rationalism is: a belief or theory that opinions and actions should be based on reason and knowledge rather than on religious belief or emotional response. And since Christ would be omniscient and omnipotent it would be impossible for Satan to fool him--no matter what Satan did Christ would see him for what he is. It's your marriage to the irrational that prevents you from seeing the rational solution...

Give me an example of someone married to the irrational.

Despite your definition, rationalism fails when it comes to the ultimate question, "How did all of this come to be?" Rationalism is based on cause and effect and cannot accomodate an uncaused, cause. That is the realm of the supernatural, religion and metaphysics. Christ was offered temptation by Satan, he was not "fooled". Christ knew his adversary and his own purpose and did not deviate from that goal.

From Constructivist Theory of Emotion, one might argue that all emotions are rational, in that, they are all social conceptual constructs. Of course I may be making a big leap by assuming social conceptual constructs are based on reason and knowledge.
