A solar eclipse is an exceedingly rare event, and the fact that it will be entirely visible in only one country has struck many as being indicative of divine intervention.

Rabbinical officials in Israel have further noted that the eclipse will occur on August 21, which coincides with the last day of the Hebrew month of Av, a day known in Judaism as Yom Kippur Katan, or the "minor" Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement.

Taken together, American-born Israeli rabbi and author Lazar Brody explained the significance to Breaking Israel News:

"In Kabbalah (Jewish mysticism), the sun represents the nations of the world, and the moon represents Israel. This eclipse is only over the United States. That is a shout from above, saying, ‘America, get your act together, Come back to the Almighty and cast away all your legalization of what the Torah calls abominations’. Idol worship isn’t only bowing down to idols.

In the US, there are people who worship homosexuality and perversion, one of the reasons the Talmud states for a solar eclipse."

This is most definitely very exciting! I have read so many different articles on the significance of this eclipse, the most interesting ones are the ones that use certain numbers and how they pertain to the eclipse! I will definitely be watching and waiting in prayer on the 21st! I think that this is a very exciting time to be alive because I believe that it is very possible that I will be here for the rapture of the saints. I know this is very controversial and I only defend it if someone claims that all who believe in the rapture will be taken by the anti-Christ. I really don't have clue if something is going to happen other than the solar eclipse but I'm a little anxious. God's in control so whatever happens will happen right on time!! All will be fine!

Hi TexaCan,

Good to hear from you.

This is indeed, for all those who trust in the God of the Bible, a most interesting time to be alive, for Jesus told us to "watch," and to know the signs of the times..."

The disciples came to Jesus and asked, what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age? (Matthew 24:3) In His response He gave two major commands.

First, "Watch out that no one deceives you (Matthew 24:4).

Second, keep watch (Matthew 24:42).

One of the amazing attributes of God that He claims as His alone is all the details involved in knowing the end from the beginning.

Isaiah 46:9 "remember the former things of old; for I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me,
Isaiah 46:10 declaring the end from the beginning and from ancient times things not yet done, saying, 'My counsel shall stand, and I will accomplish all my purpose"

I've never had anyone try to tell me that the anti-Christ will take those who believe in the rapture, which the Apostles of Jesus Christ were inspired to write and tell us about...

- although twenty years ago, those who believed in the New Age Movement (NAM) made the claim that the earth would be cleansed of all the "wrong thinking" people, which would be a reference to Christians... and an excuse if we suddenly disappeared.

Whether we depart this earth in the rapture, or earlier through a more conventional manner, we know it is NOT a time of fear, for we know who holds our destiny in His hands.

Hi TexaCan, br br Good to hear from you. br br T... (show quote)

There is a group of people that are being taught that all Christians that believe in the rapture will be deceived by a man claiming to be Jesus Christ and that he will ask us to go with him and 'flyaway'. These people are good, honest, dedicated Christians! They have just been deceived by what we believe about the rapture. We are taught that we will meet Jesus in the air, that He does not ask us if we want to go, He gathers us to him, He takes us! This is our gift for believing that He is our Savior. I've tried to reassure them that we won't be deceived because we won't believe any man claiming to be Jesus on this earth and asking us to go anywhere with him! I tell them that we don't believe that Jesus comes to earth for us, that we meet Him 'in the air'! They don't do this out of animosity, they are truly trying to save us.

Zemirah, When my husband and I are outside, sitting and enjoying the evening or fishing out on the lake, we often think about what it will be like if we are blessed to be part of the rapture! Will each person hear their name called by Jesus or will we hear thousands of angels singing, will we see the sky part and see Jesus in all His glory? I can't help but be very excited!!! I have to remind myself that we have lived a long blessed life, we have seen our children grow up and now our grandchildren are grown, however we are expecting our first great grandchildren-twin girls, but I must remember that everyone isn't at the same place in time that Jack and I are at! I don't want to RUSH time and anyone miss the chance of salvation. (Not to suggest that I have anything to do with His timing). Thank you for this thread! I would love to see more. I love the study of prophecy and would love more discussions on it. BJW

Do you think that it is possible that Harvey is a judgment and the beginning of more? This storm is beyond the unusual!

Hi TexaCan,

I've been offline for a few days.

Do I believe our country is ripe for judgment? Absolutely.

God, in His absolute mercy and forbearance has stayed His hand fifty plus years, since the USSC decision throwing Him from our public schools in 1962, and 1963, and the 1973 decision that murdering our own infants is a right to be found in our U.S. Constitution, under "Privacy."

The decision that legally uniting two sexual perverts is "Holy Matrimony," and is constitutional was just icing on the cake.

The 1st "Woe" in the chapter (at the beginning) of Isaiah 18 is something I've been watching. It seems to be aimed at us, the US receiving a nuclear strike, after which it foretells a war in the Middle East involving Israel... who defeats their enemies, assuming control of the rest of Israel proper... and finally, Americans bringing gifts to the Temple Mount, to rebuild the Temple.

The identification of the nation in this chapter, verses 1, 2, and 7, contains a number of detailed specifications that no modern nation fits the description of as closely as does the United States, and no ancient nation ever fulfilled the prophecy.

Whether 1/3rd of our oil supply being knocked offline in the Houston area is a leadup to this, I don't know...

My first thought on the 25th, after hearing the prediction that the Houston area could receive fifty inches of rain, was that based on their recent political history, If God was applying a judgment in Texas, Houston would seem to be a natural target.

The citizens of Houston had elected an avowed Lesbian mayor, Annise Parker, several years ago, who had issued Subpoenas to five Houston Christian pastors demanding all sermons and correspondence dealing with homosexuality, gender identity and the city's Equal Rights ordinance in an attempt to censure the Christian churches in Houston in 2014, requiring them to submit their sermons to her office for approval, before delivering them to their congregations.

The Houston City Council had supported her in this action.

Is the stench in God's nostrils, resulting from that action, sufficient cause to warrant fifty inches of rain? I don't know.

Actually, my very next thought was of the double rainbows that have appeared several times at the White House, since President Trump's inauguration. The last one was on August 3rd.

Their appearance at our capitol, over the White House, encompasses a message to the entire nation.

The rainbow is always a reminder of God's promise that He would never again inundate the entire earth in judgement of sin, as He had at the time of Noah (Genesis 9:12-17), - but smaller areas have remained "fair game," when and if warranted, and desired by a sovereign God.

It is NOT Global Warming or Climate Change that controls the weather on earth; it is the God of Creation.

...and then there is the eclipse of the Sun, which was a warning to our nation. It crossed the middle of the land from the Northwest to the Southeast, but avoided California and New York, leaving me wondering if these areas have transgressed beyond deserving a warning.

There are two more Hurricanes approaching, which I have heard described as a "One - Two" punch. One could follow the other back into the gulf to Texas and Louisiana, or they could divide with one hitting Miami, and the other going up the East Coast... or they could both go out to sea.

Only God knows now, and we will know in due time.

At the present time, a wildfire burning through mountains just north of downtown Los Angeles is the largest ever within city limits, the city's mayor, Eric Garcetti, said. Los Angeles County is fighting it's biggest wild fire in recorded history.

We should all be praying on our knees in sackcloth and ashes, but they seem to be in short supply.

Psalm 91:7-8: "A thousand may fall at your side And ten thousand at your right hand, But it shall not approach you.
You will only look on with your eyes And see the recompense of the wicked.…"

Hello TexCan...I found this VERY interesting...

Is God speaking through Irma, Harvey and an earthquake?

Anne Graham Lotz ~ September 12, 2017
Within weeks, we have experienced record-breaking fires in the northwest, record-breaking hurricanes in Texas and Florida, and a record-breaking earthquake in Mexico. What is happening? Are these disasters random? Just freaks of nature? Or is something more significant intended? The answer may be found in an incredible Biblical story.

The Old Testament book of 1 Kings 19 records a dramatic scene when the Lord God passed by as the prophet Elijah stood in the mouth of a cave. The description is eerily similar to ours, because first there was a great and powerful wind, but the Lord was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake. After the earthquake came a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire came a still, small voice--the gentle voice of Father God speaking to His frightened, weary child.

God used the earthquake, wind and fire to get Elijah’s attention, because God had something to say. Our situation is so similar to Elijah’s it begs the question: Is God using these storms to get our attention because He also has something to say to His us? Yes, He is. What is it? I believe God is saying in essence what He said to Elijah. His message can be broken into four parts:

1) Be comforted. The fact that God spoke to Elijah revealed God’s presence. God is with us. He has promised, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” (Hebrews 13:5) God is right there. With you. Now! And He understands what it feels like to be stripped of everything.

2) Be blessed. God told Elijah He would bring help. And God did. He brought Elisha alongside. God will bring us help, too: first responders, FEMA, friends, neighbors, family—even strangers will come alongside to help in the work of rebuilding. They are moved to do so by the Spirit of God, so even in the mess, mold, muck and misery we are aware of Heaven’s blessing.

3) Be encouraged. God told Elijah there were more faithful believers in God than Elijah was aware of, implying Elijah’s life had been more impactful than he knew. Our lives also have eternal significance. No man is an island. Life is not just about you. Me. These storms have given ample opportunity for us to understand that life is about something bigger than we are. It’s a good time to reorder our priorities and private world.

4) Be ready. God gave Elijah another assignment—a purpose. And I believe God has a purpose for us. We need to look to Him and be ready for what’s coming next. Because soon after Elijah’s sensational confrontation with God, he was “raptured.” Taken up into Heaven without seeing death. Don’t miss this implied message. In the words of Jesus, “Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, trust also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.” (John 14:1-3) Heaven is waiting! Jesus is coming! The signs He gave signal that His coming is imminent. On that day, don’t be left behind. Be ready to meet Him face to face. Turn to Him now. Place your trust in Jesus.
