If it's true. I heard 90% of the rioters were from out of town.

That is what has been reported from several different sources...(TV reporters).

I don't condone what went on there. And never condone white nationalists/supremacist. But just as any other group of people, that is an important statue to them. Just as is Abe Lincoln is important to us or a mosque that's important to muslims. Or even a satanic statue (which is creepy) going up in a park in MN.

These nationalists got the permit to protest, everything was quite until buss loads of counter protesters came in all armed up. I guess I'm saying what is good for one is good for the other..

Freedom for all must be respected. They can protest without violence to display their disagreement. Just we say words in our opinion that we don't agree with. If they protest peacefully, then they have the right to do that. If another party stops that right, they have no right to do that. Therefore violence follows.

We must unite and respect each others rights. We must love, and respect each other for one common purpose. We belong to one country. when our country is attacked by other countries, we must defend ours. That is why we must have that common interest.

Jawohl = yes, or yes indeed, depending upon how it is used.

And yes, that is absolutely correct.

Sorry Peter..theres one of him in his hometown of Heidenheim.....plus several streets and 2 military bases with his name.

Recognition for a place of birth isn't quite a statue is it and Lee's birth place is Stradford Hall and a museum. You have me on the military bases but I think the point remains the same--history doesn't suffer if Lee's statue removed from our parks...

Sorry Peter. I still disagree. It may not be that important to us. But...to them it IS their history. The north slammed them down. We took their homes, their livelihood, their hearts and their souls...and rightfully so. But.....That statue and anymore like it deserve to stay. It is THEIR history and important to them.
