I think that our ability, or lack there-of, to take out those missiles will be of key importance for years to come.

Will the hundreds of billions of dollars that we've spent on missile defense systems pay off?

If not, we will have a much bigger problem. If so it will be a substantial demonstration of strength, around the world.

Even if the missile defense system works perfectly, punitive action would seem to be called for.

Very Simple! I would return the favor but on a much larger scale to hold them accountable for their bad behavior. I hope it doesn't throw the World into a major war. When Fernand, and his wife, Sophie, was assinated by Principe, who ever thought it would end up in a World War whereby 41 million lost their lives. If such a thing were to happen today, it might spell the end of Civilization and the Human Race!

Why the bell wait for them? Politicians are falling all over themselves about what to do if the little pot bellied child in NK launches an EMP over the US, apparently our protectors only have enough protected facilities and generators for themselves. SIMPLE, HIT THEM FIRST AND PUT THEM IN THE DARK like they have done to their own COMMON people. EMPs are really unsophisticated devices and wouldn't do much damage other than to the electronics in that little kingdom.

Considering we know.his location, take him and his government out with conventional weaponry including MOAB if necessary, but I think he may be taken out before he actually launches, by his own military.

MOAB followed by a series of bunker busters and then several more MOAB weapons in a bracketing pattern.

I hope Japan would try to intercept them as they flew over their airspace. I hope the THAAD unit in Guam could do something with them. They are not to supposed to be armed. If they fell into the ocean without igniting, I would look at it as a training drill. And pray to come up with a intercepter for them.

YOu maybe don't realize if China don't believe our attack is not provoked they might attack the US. Four unarmed mislles might not constitute an attack to the yellow people.

Those 4 missiles would likely be unarmed. The only course of action that would make sense is to return to the U N and ask for a naval blockade
of NK ports until they see the light. Only food and medicine would get through. Lifting the blockade would only occur when NK gives up all of its nukes and delivery systems. Verification of compliance would have to be strictly enforced.
The bigger threat is the sale of nuclear bombs by NK to a terrorist group. A container ship bound for a U S port with such a bomb inside a shipping crate is indefensible. Sound far fetched? The Saudis are thought to have nuclear bombs purchased through an arms dealer. If true, it proves that money can buy anything.

==============
Guam is a US territory. If NK launches ballistic missiles there, I must respond to nuke and destroy their nuclear sites.
Get rid of all of them. NK has been emboldened for the last 25 years beginning from Clinton, then to Barrack Obama.
NK kept growing their nuclear capability until today. Bill Clinton gave them $5 billion of our money to stop its bomb making. Instead NK used the money to advance their nuclear arsenal.

Obama while talking for peace, allowed NK to further their nuclear capability. They now have advanced power to take the US. Just like Iran. He gave Iran $150 billion plus cash of $1.75 billion with conditions of not pursuing the nuclear arms. Instead, Iran used that money for advancement of its nuclear power. In addition to fund terrorists like Hamas. Now Iran, like NK, is powerfully armed with nukes to attack the US.

China is the TRAITOR. While nurturing NK, for its ally, the leader of communist China demands that president Trump must tone down his message about NK. He also demands that the US remove the US military from South Korea. Why demand that? US is in South Korea for defense in case NK attacks the South. NK is the aggressive one that provokes, by bombing the waters of Japan and South Korea.

China is the greatest TRAITOR. Don't trust China. China took the Spratly Islands by building military installations around it.
The islands belong to South Korea, Japan, the Philippines, and even Vietnam. China wants to take the whole Pacific rim countries, The Spratly Islands are very rich in oil and mineral resources which China wanted to have them all.

Honestly, I trust Russia more than China.

Deploy the SM-3 missile system built by Boeing, Raytheon, and Northrop Grumman.

Without getting into the classified information about this system, and to simplify the system to layman's terms, the system is famously called, "the bullet that takes out the bullet"

During the Reagan "Star wars program" we, at Raytheon Missile Systems, developed a defensive missile. This missile is known as the EKV. The capability of this missile is simply amazing. Using modern navigational systems and radar and sonar systems, we have the capability to take out any ballistic missiles fired from any enemy nation, and this SM-3 missile is placed within the vicinity of the incoming missile. Then the SM-3 tracks the enemy missile and rams the warhead completely destroying the threatening missile. Unlike what was reported by CNN, the SM-3 EKV has a success rate accuracy of 90%. That is 9 out of ten under testing conditions. The SM-3 uses the THAAD system that will protect Japan, Guam, and all our friends and allies in the Pacific.

Now the SM3 missile system is much more effective than the Patriot defense system that is currently employed by a number of nations to include Japan and Israel.

So if I was the President of the United States I would first deploy this system.

Second, I would start a Pacific pact between Russia, the United States, Japan, and China. These four countries have shown great restraint on the use of Nuclear weapons.

I would follow through on the philosophy, "Do not attack, unless attacked upon." I would give strict orders, presidential orders to my generals and admirals not to attack North Korea, unless North Korea fires first. If we attack North Korea then we are the aggressor. If they attack us, they are the aggressor.

Now since Kim, started the "war of words", I would if I were the President, taunt him. I would fly protected missions from Guam to South Korea. I would operate my carriers and battle groups in the China Sea. I would get China's permission to operate in the South China Sea. Japan has received a missile defense system. These systems do work.

But a sports coach once said, "The best defense is a good offense."

If and only if North Korea fires upon us, our allies, the mainland, whatever, if they fire one shot at us, I would invade North Korea, then I would give through diplomatic means China and Russia the territory. I would have China and Russia fight over the territory.

If Kim does not fire upon us, I would open up a single channel and discuss terms of peace.

As president of the United States this is what I would do. When that reporter asked Trump that his statement sounded like a dare, I would have responded, "You're damn right it's a dare. I double dare Kim to attack us. Skin that smokewagon and see what happens." Then the press, and the rest of the world would know beyond a shadow of a doubt that I meant business.

Now let me be clear, if North Korea is just talking that is one thing, if they attack that is something entirely different. Now, ever since 911, we Americans have become suspicious of just about everyone. From the President, to ISIS, to Iran to now North Korea. We are suspicious of Putin. Now this is very bad. The heightened sensitivity of the American public is getting very ridiculous. A line of an organized principle must be drawn in the sand. We as a nation, we as a world need to rally around this principle and be very strict with this principle. It must be a simple principle, (Ten or less) such that all nations, all peoples can peacefully live with.

Now, I prefer peace over war. However, we, the United States cannot be bullied by any nation. John F. Kennedy, stood up to Castro and Krushev, now Trump is standing up to North Korea. I think we the People, must support Trump.

Have fun with this statement.

Well here is the problem as I see it.

First off you have to know and understand the location of Guam in relationship to Japan.

That being said, how are we, or our allies to know, if North Korea is testing these missile?

Because if this is all bluster from UNG, he is playing a very dangerous game.

China has said it will do nothing to help North Korea, provided it fires the first shot.

This is the key. North Korea could simply turn to China and say, It was a test only.

Even though the trajectory's of the missiles would be different for a test, verses and actual
live fire launch, from our prospective, a missile can change course in a heart beat.

And given that, He .... UNG .... has informed the world he just may launch a live fire attack on Guam.
I would, Right now, send a massage to UNG personally, and as direct as can be possible, inform him, if any
missiles are detected coming from North Korea, in the vicinity and direction of Guam, will be considered an act of war, and a retaliatory strike will be launched before there missiles could hit any target.

Along with that, I would set in motion, an around the clock surveillance by our Air force, to monitor any movement in the realm of launch activity.

This is not what I would want. But the only way to defeat force, is with equal force or better.
