Mike Mezuel II Pics of Very Dangerous Weather... Awesome!!! Don D.
Great photos Don, the lady in the first one seems to have the same worry most of us would have..
Thanks..
Awesome photos Don thanks.
Those were absolutely amazing. I was in the tornado in 79 that wiped out our town. Don't ever want to be in another one, but they fascinate me.

Great white sharks fascinate me and I never want to be in one or near one either.

Haaah....no..no..no sharks. I've been to the ocean once. Walked into my ankles and came back out. No way I'm gonna let a big fish with those kinds of chompers bite on me. lol
Did any of you notice in the first picture the dress the woman was wearing being pulled toward the storm the same way a Tidal wave sucks the water back before coming ashore? Those are fantastic photos.
Katie, I grew up in the ocean. Saw sharks under the surf board often. Would scuba dive
at the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel which is one of the breeding grounds for Hammerhead sharks. I would wade a gill net off the beach to catch fish. Usually checked it after work at sunset by wading out and extracting whatever was caught. Using a Coleman lantern which would attract big shiners who would nip on us. We would work quickly because in addition to attracting the shiners the light would soon attract small sharks and bluefish (which scared me more than the sharks as they travel in big schools and are all teeth and attack). That was 40 years ago. Today the only water I will get in to has a Holiday Inn or such attached to it. Mike

You are a much braver person than I Mike. I'll take the Great Lakes or an inland lake anytime. When I went to see Jaws many years ago it ruined me for life on sharks.
No way...no how am I ever gonna be fish food. No...No...No.... The only big fish I like are the ones on the end of my fishing pole. lol. : )
The power of Mother Mature is just something you don't want to test!!!
Outstanding pictures!!!! Wowwwww
At the time I wasn't braver, just younger and foolish. Mike

I like the inland lakes primarily for walleye fishing although there was a time in my life after I lost my wife in 2010 when I was over in Maui visiting with my daughter that we went out watching humpback whales and their calves. I have to say that although I am afraid of sharks I did find myself out about 2 miles in the ocean on a paddle board watching the humpback whales and their calves. Why it didn't cross my mind more but Maui has shark attacks and they are usually the tiger sharks that do the attacking although there are occasionally great whites that go through there because they eat the dead humpback whale calves that don't survive. I know that as I sit here now I don't know why I wasn't more worried at the time.

It's probably a good thing you didn't think about it at the time, otherwise it would've cut into your fun time. I'd still say a big YIKES on that tho. lol. When I get the chance to go back to MI. I love going out on the big lake Steelhead fishing. They sure put up a good fight.....
Yes Ma'am, unfortunately most of us guys don't realize that we aren't young still. We still do foolish stuff because it's in our DNA. Ya gotta remember we all start out as a girl and at some point some change to boys. I think it's a change from physical to emotional. Heck, guys are trying to figure out what you gals are all about, forget that. On the other side, you have us nailed to an extent as no one person thinks the same.
I'm still trying to be young. I'm in a deer hunting group that requires work parties once a month. I'm exempt because of my age but I still go. It benefits me with exercise and community.
I'm with you in that I would swim in an inland lake but I won't go in the Ocean any more. I swam with the sharks when I was young, I can't do it now.
I wish we could catch walleyes here. Too far south. My gosh, they are good eating.
Good Night Katie,
Mike

Oh, Mike.... I don't think men and women will ever figure each other out. lol If we did...where would be the excitement or the adventure? : )
I'm planning a trip next summer for a week or so up to Makinaw Island in MI. Going to travel all along the West coast of Lake MI. And make a few stops along the way. Have to get more Traverse City Cherry coffee from TC.
Then I'm just going to enjoy the island for a week. No cars, only bicycles and horses. It's a spectacular place to go. You can bet I'm going to do some Steelhead fishing. Jetskiing too. And...well...of course lots of fudge. Haaah
Love an adventure and the planning of it is almost as good..... : )
PS.. NO SHARKS!!
