People really did ask me this. Only reason I can think of..

It would be a huge dark stain on the party.

In the past 50 years the Republican party has given us: Richard Nixon (about to be impeached, resigned), Ronald Reagan (should have been impeached), George W. Bush (should have been impeached) and now Donald Trump (quite possibly will be impeached.) This is not a good record. Only Gerald Ford and George H.W. Bush come off with any kind of dignity.

People hate to be proven wrong. American conservatives doubly so. Denial is deep in the mindset and they can’t stand the idea of their leaders falling so often. They don’t want to see their beloved philosophy proven wrong, again.

True, in some ways Mike Pence is slightly more sane than Trump (not saying much.) But that doesn’t mean they are eager to can Trump just yet. The Republicans in Congress and the Senate still think they can manipulate Trump into rubber stamping whatever paper they toss onto his desk. They are probably right. Although I doubt Pence would be reluctant to write his name either.

I pray every day that Trump isn't impeached or resign. Every day that his Insanity remains President his world view is exposed as harmful nonsense. I also pray every day that his Insanity doesn't get a whole lot of people killed.

Lmao, you are hysterical, Frosty.

You know what's not a good record?

Only two presidents in the history of this country have been impeached, and they were both democrats!!!

Bill Clinton: impeached for perjury, and OBSTRUCTION OF JUSTICE - sound familiar?😂

And...

Andrew Johnson: who narrowly escaped conviction by a single vote.

That's what the democrats have given us.

Thanks for the laughs, Frosty. 😂😂😂👍👍👍

Hell, we could look at the GOP record..

Nixon-- resigned due to Impeachment coming.. Agnew, resigned as a crook..

Reagan-- should have been impeached....

Bush the younger----should have been impeached...Chaney.. was a crook and should have been indited..

Now, the orange con man.... a true danger to America... Will he last???

That's what the democrats have given us.

You can't impeach because there is no crime, but you just keep praying(oh, that's right you guys don't know what that is) frosty and dreaming and we'll just keep laughing.

perm, O f course I agree with you. For some reason, Republicans love Reagan. The only real accomplishment of his administration is have made Americans feel good about their country, after the Nam catastrophe. Not to shabby.
Nixon was a criminal and baby Bush was terrible. The Donald is another story. In my opinion, he is the worst President in history. He lies so much that no person can depend on any thing he says. He believes that the people in the cabinet must be loyal to him personally. but it doest mean that he must be loyal to those that supported him like Sessions. He not only threw Sessions under a bus, but he personally drove over him several times.
All that matters to Trump is himself. He is the best example of narcissistic personality disorder I have ever seen.
I don't like conservatives like Pence, but at least he has some idea of how a President is supposed to act.

The hate runs deep with you.

Clinton was impeached because he committed perjury to deny an American citizen a fair trial over her being sexually harrasssed.

No Republican since Nixon can match that.

As for "Should have"….

Obama abused the Espionage Act to illegally target a journalist. Nixon didn't get near that.

Obama abused everything, irs, nsa, cia and that's just a fraction of it. Not only that but obama was a serial liar and these idiots turned a blind eye, so they have no credibility.

Optics.................and the midterm elections. They have to begin their midterm strategy immediately after their next recess ( which is why they're hurrying the healthcare crap ), because there are two more recesses after this one, then it's 2018 already. To impeach trump now, with zero wins on the books, puts them in an impossible position leading up to Nov. 2018. The problem they're having with this is, like a Three Stooges skit, for every hole in their boat they plug............Trump is tweeting 2 more.
