Unfortunately, history reveals that you are right in a lot of instances.

We'll just have to make our innards that much stronger. This country has survived many things. It will survive this too. Not without a fight I'm afraid. But we all know shes worth fighting for!

78, I wouldn't expect for you to vote for him as he is a very successful Conservative who as KK said is down to earth, logical and loves Michigan. He is not one of YOUR hollywierd liberals like Al Franken etc. that you would probably prefer as you hate this Country so much. Google the man and listen to what he has to say and then question his qualifications. What qualifies you to even ask? Mike

kankune, What qualifies him. Does he write books and or papers on the law? Did he head an important political position? Was he a top general? Don't you think we have had one too many entertainers in politics?

God knows Michigan needs all the help it can get. One of the most beautiful states I've ever lived in, but it's going to hell being over run by muslims......

In a more direct answer to your post. Yes, definitely. I got a little carried away discussing McCain and Peanut Boy and forgot to answer the question.

kanku[ne, There is no way I would vote for Kid Rock for anything. What are his qualifications? I don't think rock singer counts. We need people that know what they're doing. Brainy people with knowledge of the law and Political experience are the only people I would vote for. I would however, like to go to one of his concerts.quote=kankune]I would. I'd have to disagree Salt. Where have the politicians and the beaurocrats gotten us in the last 20 years? They've almost brought this country to its knees. I'll go with a good heart and a patriot anytime. : )

Saltwind,

That is the damn problem with our nation. You have too many lawyers, too many idiots from Harvard and the philosophy that somehow you have to have a Phd to be a Senator or Congressman. When the dust settles, they do not know anymore then you and me. I will give you case and point. David Brat, from Virginia, who defeated a top knotch Republican who was worming his way to be Speaker of the House. He said he was going to do this and do that. At this point in his political career, he has not done anything worthwhile to stand out among the crowd. He was a professor of economics at Randolph Macon and has a doctorate in this field. He is just another, average politician that occupies time, space and history who likes to play it safe. I will take a person with good common sense who knows the issues, who is basically educated and loves his/her country. They are not on an ivory tower and know what is best for the nation not only on a local level, but the nation as a whole. I believe if some person, who is an independent, could challenge Brat for his seat and hit him hard on common sense issues, they could defeat this do-nothing ass sitter. We need patriots, people with guts, tough decision makers and men/women who are willing to put it out there. Brat has been nothing but a big disappointment. He was a flash in the pan.

The only qualifications one requires to be a Senator is the ability to read and understand the Constitution.

Good point but also follow the provisions of the Constitution under penalty of removal from office for failure to do so.

Believe it or not! It is not a requirement in the Constitution. In theory you can be an illeterate, mentally retarded and just about anything else and you can still be a Senator. The Founding Fathers made the assumption that the American People would set the criteria with such things as newspapers, gatherings and political debate. You can sit on the Supreme Court w/o a law degree. There is no stipulation in the Constitution that a person has to have a law degree from some school like Harvard. In my opinion if we had a few people w/o law degrees, we might get a court that believes more in the Constitution then their own brand of what the Law should be according to their own legal philosophy.
