Bobby, I have to say that we do spy on our friends and enemies. Back in 1956 I was in Italy doing just that. We managed to tell our military people where every one of the 200+ tanks the Russians had surrounding Hungary trying to force them to stop their revolution. Soon after that we told our people where the British and French ships in the Suez were located down to the ship. We had the equipment to do these things and it was our job so we did it. I bet few, if any, here can understand that but it happened.

Alan Arkin was brilliant in this movie. You have to catch him in Freebie and the Bean with James Caan.

I saw both movies decades ago, and agree that his performance in both were terrific. But, it has been so long since I saw either of them, much has been forgotten. The performance I remember most was his in another comedy, the original "The In-Laws," with Peter Falk. "Serpentine," Son of Witless, "Serpentine." If you saw the movie, you'll know of what I refer.

My favorite drama with him in a starring role was 'The Heart Is A Lonely Hunter,' from 1968, I believe. He was also good in 'Wait Until Dark,' co-starring Audrey Hepburn, from the same era.

Trump is trying to work with the Russians and I for one would like to work with the Russians. But after World War II, Senator Joe McCarthy scared all of us about the Russians. So our two countries were engaged in a cold war. Fear is our enemy. Fear is the enemy against us all. We are not at war with Russia and I for one, want the idiotic fear of the Democrats to go away. If I was a lawyer, and I had contacts in Congress, and headed to Russia and met with the son of a candidate running for president over in Russia. Will I be considered a government man, one from the CIA? I shouldn't be. But if the roles were reversed...., oh wait is that not what the Democrats have done?

I've been puzzled for many years about the comments and reports from this nation's media, and the attitude they display toward Russia.

There seems to be a complete hitch in their get-along in their lack of understanding that the USSR no longer exists, either territorially or in the subsequent government of Russia.

For years before we were attacked on 9/11, our media consistently reported that the "freedom fighters" of Chechnya were being cruelly oppressed by Russia, never understanding these so-called "freedom fighters" were savage blood thirsty Muslim terrorists attempting to impose their own sharia government.

After the WTC was destroyed, Putin called George W. offering his assistance, and he voiced the sentiments that we were now fighting the same enemy he had fought for years, believing we would now understand.

That didn't happen. Instead, the media and government went into overdrive to pacify the muslims in our own country.

God forbid that any muslim should be looked at cross-eyed!

In his speeches, Obama often belittled and literally ridiculed Putin, as if he wished to make of him an enemy, thus boosting his already severely bloated ego.

Putin is currently being pulverized in the press because he is supporting Bashar Assad. Thank God he is supporting Bashar Assad, as we lack the good sense to do so.

Bashar Assad is the only man in Syria who will continue to defend the Christians and other minorities, as his father did for sixty years.

I admire Vladimir Putin for the law he sponsored through the duma blocking homosexual activists in Russia from being able to propagandize or attempt to recruit Russian school students, as they have so successfully done in our own country for at least twenty years now.

Vladimir Putin is also to be admired for encouraging married couples in Russia to have children to support their dwindling population. All our country has managed is compulsory financial support for birth control on every health insurance policy, whether wanted or not.

Unfortunately, many among our sadly confused leaders and media have much to learn, and some of it they could learn from Russia, and Russia's leader.

People forget this fact. Joseph Stalin was one of the great mass murderers and despots of the 20th century. He was evil. Yet we allied with him to defeat Adolf Hitler. We sent him the war materials that kept his country alive. How much less of an accommodation of our sacred principles is it to work with Vlad Putin to defeat ISIS and other threats to our country?

This whole Russian obsession of the Democrats has to play itself out. Until then we will continue to miss opportunities to fix things like North Korea and Syria because our Democratic Party friends must have their pound of flesh.

Putin also made school prayer mandatory having seen how atheism ravaged his country under Communism. He also converted to the Russian Orthodox Church and attends church more frequently than Obama ever did his liberation theology (Marxist) church.

Senator Joe McCarthy may have been a drunk and an ass but he was absolutely correct on Communists infiltrating and influencing our government. It is an undisputed fact that the USSR was engaged in espionage on a colossal scale. They were recruiting agents, stealing our vital national secrets and attempting to undermine our political process by funding communists and socialists political parties in America. And who do you think shut down the probe to identify, arrest and stop the communists? Why of course it was the damn Democrats. But there is a vast difference between Russia today and the old USSR. And who do you think, now that Trump is President, believes Russia to be the big bad wolf? Why of course it is the Marxist Progressive Party, AKA - Democrats.

I expect the leader of every country to put his nation first. Trump and Putin do! Obama never could. I want Putin and Trump to establish good relations between our nation's. It is the smart thing to do.
