"Well..."

- Steve Jobs

"Don't Wonder..."

“Don't wonder why people go crazy. Wonder why they don't.
In the face of what we can lose in a day, in an instant,
wonder what the hell it is that makes us hold it together.”
- “Meredith”, “Grey's Anatomy”

"One Wanders Through Life..."

"One wanders through life as if wandering through a field in the dark of night,
wearing a blindfold and very heavy shoes, with a poisonous toad waiting patiently
beneath a clump of weeds, knowing full well that eventually you will step on him."
~ Lemony Snicket

"They Pay For It..."

“People pay for what they do, and still more for what they have allowed
themselves to become, and they pay for it, very simply, by the lives they lead.”
- James Baldwin, “No Name in the Street” (1972)

Still cleaning up from the fourth. My "kids" threw an extra large shindig this year (42 people) and they restructured my home to make room for the food prep and people. I am still locating all of the items they buried in nooks and crannies all over the house. Between the bad lungs and Arthritis, it is a long painful process to get everything back where it belongs.

If I am still alive next year I will rent a tent and tables and hold the party in the backyard. All of the household items will remain in place and the mess will be contained outside.

I question WHY your "kids" are not coming over to clean up after their bash. I'd call it poor training and inconsideration.

They did 99% of the cleanup before they left. They each live in another state so it isn't a quick run over for any of them. I am not cleaning, I am returning items that were moved to make room, to their customary places. They all pitch in to do the prep and cooking for our family get-togethers and they handle the cleanup as well. It is just a continuation of family cohesiveness from the time when they were little children. Since I am roughly in the middle, most of the gatherings are held here.

I can relate on the arthritis demon.

But I've discovered shark cartilage and I've even progressed from pill form to eating the actual beast.

I take frequent fishing expeditions on the Texas gulf coast.

For the past couple of years my company has conducted long term projects in the Houston area.

Texas City, Galveston, and the Bolivar Peninsula are nearby so I have a freezer stocked with speckled trout, flounder, redfish and shark.

The nurse shark, the black tip and the hammerhead are most prevalent in the gulf and they both provide sufficient cartilage.

There are also bull sharks but I always cut the line when I hook one of those beasts.

Monday I'll be traveling to headquarters in Austin to prepare for a seven day project in Marfa Texas.

I'll most likely get back to the Houston projects at the first of next month.

I hope you can manage with your health issues and continue to enjoy your family and friends.

I'm gonna take a drive over to see my dad later.

He had a doctor's appointment early today and I know how much he hates doctors.

We just might get in a little target practice before the sun goes down.

Happy Trails........................amigo.
