When did I become a garamarist? Have I been promoted? (More importantly; does it come with a pay raise?)
LOL

When I went to school, we had to provide our own pencils, paper, folders, and every kid had to bring a box of Kleenex at the beginning of the year.
That must have been in Muslifornia.

Iguana kill you. Either I am notifying you that a reptile known as an Iguana will kill you - or I'm threatening to kill you myself. I told the judge I meant the reptile thing.

archie, When you went to school, there was probably a dress code, paddling, and school prayer. No doubt a lot has changed, but the law requires a free education. That has been interpreted to mean educational supplies as well as instruction. Many kids can't afford the kind of supplies that are required by today's schools. Poor kids are at a tremendous disadvantage compared to middle class children. It won't be long before computers and other expensive electronics will be required. You would be amazed to learn the percentage of kids receiving a free lunch.

Muslifornia had you come to school prepared out of your own pocket? What's the problem?

You're mighty free with the free word windy. Who pays for the free stuff?
I haven't had a kid in school for years, and years, but I still pay school taxes just to keep the property that I own. Or do I own it? I damn sure paid for it, but if I don't pay to buy someone else's kid a pencil the county will take it from me. That doesn't feel all that free to me.

I am surprised at the number of undeserving adults receiving one.

YES! YES! YES! YES!

Cut funding for schools - COMPLETELY. Let the parents and students realize that it's a service and has value.
