I’m just trying to help

The word of God is meant to be followed and not policed. We have a slogan in engineering, “when all else fails, read the directions.” God built this universe and all life on this planet. The directions for how to be successful as an individual and as a society are found in the bible. As our creator, God has every right to tell us how to live the life He gave us. Obeying God helped me and would help us all. It has little effect on me if you disobey God. If you steal or murder, I will not be arrested. Those who break God’s law are broken by God’s law. We will not prosper as a country while we murder infants and destroy families. No one prospers long by stealing, selling drugs, or drinking and driving.

Look Fred I appreciate you trying to help. I haven't stolen anything, I don't drink so don't drink and drive, I've never murdered anyone nor destroyed anyone's family, I've never committed adultery--though our own president has many times--so it would seem that the directions for how to be successful aren't only to be found in the bible but are available to anyone who wants to lead a civil life.

Pete, the Bible tells us that ALL have sinned and fallen short of God's glory. That means EVERYONE. There is only one way to be redeemed and that is through Jesus Christ, just as Moses raised the serpent up on a stick that people who were bitten by poisonous snakes could look upon it and be saved from death, Jesus is lifted up that whomever looked upon Him for salvation would be saved from eternal damnation. Sounds drastic, huh? Well, it is God's gift and you can take it or leave it. So many want to call it stupid and live their own way. It is at their peril. The murderer has this way out as well as the person who has never done much of anything wrong. Read the Gospel of John, specifically 3:14-17. Also, the book of Romans. Hope many will take the time to check it out.
