How many of you left leaners know anything about the 6 Day War?

I am sure that a number of you don't know crap from shinola about that little 6 Day War. Like who started it and how they tried to get others involved in the thing in order to take land from the Israelis. Do any of you know how wildly false the claims by Obama really were about that war and how to take the West Bank away from them? I bet not. I was in summer school the year after that one and had a professor who was in the Middle East at the time. She said that there was a lot of pure untruth floating around about that war. Gamel Abdel Nasser was the dictator in Egypt and he pushed to get it started and lost his whole air force as a result. Yep, he and the Russians tried very hard to convince the world that the Israelis were the bad guys. It was the little Egypt knew that got them pounded. Oh well, lets believe that this is a part of the reason the Mid-East countries are so much against Israel today.

Here is a short video about that war that explains a lot about it.

So what claims did Obama make about the Six day war? As for the war isn't that when Israel started it's occupation of Palestinian territories?

There will be no cheering from me for the Israelis in the six day war. At least not until there is a complete and through investigation and unbiased conclusions as to the deliberate attack on the USS Liberty by the Israelis during that war. I just spent over an hour reading several reports on that attack and it all smells of cover up by Lyndon Johnson and his administration the Israelis and a rushed incomplete investigation.

cheers

Oh you don't think the USS liberty hasn't been investigated? Israel is our only ally in the Middle East--accident or on purpose really doesn't matter...

If you are correct, since Obama did nothing about it then he would be part of a cover up too.

On the other hand, since Obama openly hates Israel, if he couldn't hang them on it....they must not be guilty of more than an accident.

Pick whichever scenario feels best.

LBJ had more dirt under his rug than Richard Nixon.

Wasn't it going back to the boundaries of January 1967 that Obama was demanding that Israel do? How stupid would that have been with those Palestinians acting like they have since they lost control of the West Bank? I remember the days before that war and how funny it was the way the Israelis took the Egyptians by destroying their air bases and most of their planes. How did the Egyptians manage to have the much better weapons supplied by the Russians and yet lose to the Israelis? The professor I talk about had plenty to say about the Muslims in 1968 and she had lived and worked amongst for 15 years. The main reason she was against them was that she said they would tell their commanders they were winning while they were running away, at the time.

Could you tell me what Obama did say about that war other than that he wanted the Israelis to back off and give the Palestinians a better to attack from?

The first attacks of the war were on Egyptian military airstrips. The Israelis flew west and then came in from the northwest and the Egyptians were sure that the planes belonged to the US Mediterranean Fleet because of direction. They attacked with dive bombers and yet, none of their bombs skipped down the runways as diver bomber bombs should have. I don't know if they had shared those things with the US but they had some little rockets on the bombs so they could go nearly straight down at the proper time. Some of them had timers on them and didn't blow till afternoon after the Egyptians started cleaning them up. Those weapons were just what were needed to fool the fool Muslims. I cheer them over that one in that they had to use WW II Sherman tanks that had been pushed off on them by the US against very superior ones hauled to Egypt by the Russians. Yep, I think the Israelis have been very superior in keeping the Muslim nations from backing them down.

Were you around when the attack took place? The first book written about that war was, I think, very truthful about what happened. However, I didn't read a whole passel about it written later. I know your story but am not sure about it.

Yep, I am very much in support of those Jewish people and my favoring started when the US, USSR and the UK told them it was theirs and left them to the Muslim nations. They managed to hold on through the 50s and when Nasser tried to get the others to attack Israel they did what they had to do continue to exist.

Damn you give him a choice and he hasn't made his choice yet. Hmmmmmm.

For those that tried to reply to my earlier post, lets get something straight. My issue was with the Israelis attacking the USS Liberty, the bull shit stories that tried to justify what Israel did, the actual attack and the all to many times Israel had to confirm that it was a U. S. ship and continued the attack. Add into that the order, twice, from Lyndon Johnson to not go to the rescue of the USS Liberty. Johnson stunk, the Israelis stunk, the quickie investigation stunk, the Israelis excuses and explanations stunk and the whole cover up stunk.

I'm not trying to justify any Muslim position or Israel position in that war. I'm just talking about the brutal attack on the USS Liberty by Israeli jets and Patrol Torpedo boats and the killing and wounding of to many innocent Americans who were just on an almost defenseless electronic surveillance ship doing no harm to Israel.

I bothered to reread many stories about this, spending well over an hour or two researching various sites. Until you do, you really need to shut up. Israel was wrong, and the cover up was wrong. Men died and on Memorial Day, you really need to remember them. And Israel needs to formally apologize to America and the victims and their families. Money isn't enough.

No cheers

I don't connect the two situations so can't really talk with you about it. i started this out to talk about the 6 Day War which the Israelis won through being smarter than the Muslims and having superior bombs to use on runways. Also, I wanted to talk about the way they won with inferior WW II tanks against the vastly superior ones the Egyptians had. Which of their early wars did they lose? Egypt did blame those bombs of that day on Americans from the Mediterranean Fleet because the planes that attacked did so by coming in from the northwest. That proved that the Egyptians didn't think the Israelis would attack them and that they failed to realize that the attacking planes looked too much like American ones.

I have had this topic manage to get deferred to the very place you went before.

They are intertwined. The attack on the USS Liberty occurred during the six day war and was often alleged that the Israelis did it to sink the USS Liberty and blame it on Egypt to draw America into their war on their side. It was also alleged that they did it to try to hide their intent to invade Syria. The whole story is full of lies and misrepresentations of the truth and America deserves a full explanation and a formal apology to the dead and wounded Americans and their families and all of America.

As for your earlier comments, I acknowledge that the Israelis out smarted and out fought the Arabs in that war.

cheers

You brought up the six day war and I simply countered with the serious issue of the USS Liberty during that war. I'm not interested in changing the subject to cover the whole of modern Judaism.

cheers
