I agree with the ticket being written....the unattended vehicle was a risk to the general public, theft, children taking it for a joyride...etc, etc, etc.

The car was already heated up since he drove to his girlfriends house....that keeping it warmed up is pretty lame for an excuse

Shut the vehicle off, take keys with you....problem solved, using nothing more than common sense......you're welcome.

Im surprised he didn't charge for polluting the air too...
Yes, stupid it was and does pose eminent danger however from what is said it's not against the law to leave a vehicle running..And unfortunately stupidity is not a chargeable offense either... lolol 🙃😮

The judge will have to dismiss it especially when the cite code the officer used is wrong ...

Geeezzzz what a policed environment we are coming to...

Why not just put Americans in prison when they're born?

That seems to be the way we are going because there is absolutely no limit on police abuse, of people, because of things they don't like. In this case they postulated a theft and an imaginary high speed chase with possible multiple injuries but in reality no such theft or chase occurred. It was simply an excuse to force this man to get a lawyer and incur costs and forcibly change his behavior to one the police found acceptable. It should be a requirement that there be mandatory retraining for police officers who arrest and cite non-existent laws because they are ignorant of the laws they are to enforce.

Consider all of the states with confiscation laws, which permit police to seize property before it is proven that a crime was committed. There are numerous cases where people have never gotten their money and property back after being acquitted with no redress. The police have been empowered to become highway robbers and they revel in doing exactly that.

Well LJ, it is a ticket to leave an unnatended vehicle running, or the keys in the ignition. ...it is here as in many places, doubly so within a certain distance of a prison, state jail or an asylum for the mentally disturbed for good reason.......it's just not enforced as much as it should be, why people are surprised when they get smacked with a ticket.

Good Times!!

I do agree with your last part concerning confiscation. ...that innocent untill proven guilty thing does not prevent that...or the tons of money one needs needs to spend proving innocence......I'm not talking about the loophole release of the guilty because some T was not crossed....but the truly innocent in these cases really get the state of Fed shaft.

You whine about other common sense laws in place in certain areas...so why not robbery? You ever stop to think why these things are not allowed in certain areas? Because of dumbass abuse and the situations they created being stupid causing them to be banned........why have conservation laws? Because some dumbass will kill every deer, moose, rabbit..etc,etc..the rivers and oceans would have no fish.......quit whining, move to where you can have what you deisre...you want a lwntern kite? Move to where it's not a fire risk, you want a pit bull?. ...live where they are.not a risk to suburban life.....there's your freeeom skippy....use it or quit snivveling.....you have a choice...now don't you?

I could go on and on with your list of crap complaints.....if you were worth the time that is.
