I got a whole lot full of these critters, problem is that was 40 or50 years ago. I still recall when I first got into the car business.

Yup! you got the "all bad" ones right, however, the 53 Ford is actually a 52 as the 52 had round parking lights. As for the 53 54 Chrysler, it's really a 49 Desoto. remember the 'waterfall' grill? I had both of these cars, Don't ask my age. Also, I am finishing up a book about my over 50 years in the car business, and if you're going to do a book, the first rule is to get your facts right.love your interest in these turkeys of which many of them went from "turkey" to restored beauty.

My first car was a 52 Renaut 4cv.
In the 40, 50, 60 I could name every car on the road. The Caddy is a 52 53 54 can't see the holes in the bumper.

The Caddy is a 53, Note the rounded bumper guards. In 1954 I did yard work for rich racehorse owners. Mom had a 53 Fleetwood, daughter had a new red Pontiac star chief rag top. Those the days! My first 'car' was a 52 Dodge P-Up which I purchased from the Air force for $130.00. when I got back to the states I purchased from a neighbor a 51Packard '200' two door for $70.00. The seller set that price because he most recently purchased a new battery and two new tires.s for $70.00 From time to time when on leave drove back and forth between base and home which was 200 miles one way, making the Packard 200 significant in that It took a quart of oil and a gas fill up every 200 miles.Nice to talk about something besides partisan politics. Just love to draw cars that I remembered.

Yep back in the days. We boys always knew every car on the road. I still remember the subtle differences between model years like 46 and 47 Fords or the 49 and 50 Fords and lots of others.
Envision this, graduated from Navy boot camp in spring of 1950. A mate who I joined the Navy with invited me to his house for boot leave in Cincinnati. He had a relative there who agreed we could borrow his car to go to Louisville to go out with a couple of gals. Can you imagine 2 boot swabbies driving a 46 Caddy in Louisville? Oh yes.
