Who pays taxes

The top 1% of earners pay 50% of the taxes. Yet some still don’t think they are paying their fair share. You have no right to control another’s finances. What another person does with their money is none of your business. A criticism of republicans is that they want tax cuts for the rich. Only those who pay excess taxes beyond their fair share deserve tax cuts. Politicians become richer while their policies make the nation poorer. Some politicians have become millionaires, taking our money making them richer and the average working American poorer. You can Google socialism or look it up on you tube and see that socialism has hurt every country that tries it. Lifelong politicians are destroying this country. We need term limits. When America becomes socialist and allows the rape and murder of it’s citizen, people will leave.

Who pays taxes br br The top 1% of earners pay 50... (show quote)

Taxpayers who make over $120,000 per year earn 41% of the money and pay 68% of the taxes. Socialism only works until you run out of other peoples money. Bring on the flat tax...make tax rate somewhere in the 15-20% range for everyone, regardless of income...no deductions.

A flat tax would eliminate double taxation, removes the section of the tax code that is biased against the formation of capital, death tax, capital gains tax and double taxation of savings and dividends. Additionally, employers should be required to withhold the taxes out of each pay check. People will adjust their spending based on income and not have a "tax day" where they may not have saved enough to pay their tax debt. Yes, this would eliminate most of the requirements of IRS staffing, but those individuals can easily be absorbed into other government programs. Now for the down side... this tax system was adopted by two European States and it is not working. Whether the fault is the system or corrupt government is not apparent. Lithuania and Latvia have short falls in most of their welfare programs, this could be due to high unemployment which drained their reserves. It is difficult to say. But, the plan is certainly worth exploring.

You would need entitlement reform to go along with a flat tax, or it won't work...you're right.

In my opinion, entitlements are things people work for, such as Social Security.... Welfare programs needs to be reformed. A top down effort needs to be made to force those who are fit (physically and mentally) to work. Any funds received from the Federal Government for welfare programs need to be visited, currently most of the funds go toward "immediate needs" and do not address the root cause of the problems. Today 25% of the money received from the Federal Government goes to cash payments, 17% for childcare, 10% for work activities and related support, and the rest for other things to include other state services for poor families, such as pre-K education and child welfare, which are legal but largely run counter to the purpose of the reform bill. This does nothing to promote job skill training, and that is, in my opinion, at the heart of the problem. If you do not have the training or experience, it is difficult to find jobs paying more than minimum wage which, again in my opinion, should be held as entry jobs or stepping stones.... not career choices.

It isn't the amount of many paid that is at issue, it's the percentage of income that is subject to tax that is the issue. No one argues that 10% of $1,000,000 will be a larger number than 25% of $100,000, but the question is; why did the $1,000,000 person not pay the same percentage? Why do the uber rich pay a lower tax RATE?

Mega corporations whine about the tax they pay, but their tax rate is at or near 0, while a small business owner pays the full rate. A small business owner, if successful, makes enough to get by on and maybe a little extra, but does not pay himself a multi million dollar salary, pays such salaries across the executive board and make millionaires of investors.

To be fair and impartial, to ensure that everyone pays their "fair share", everyone should pay the same tax rate, regardless of income. That way, someone who makes only $34,000 a year, pays the same rate as someone who makes $34,000,000 a year. The tax code would be enormously less complex, if there was a flat tax rate of 15% for all individuals and 10% for all businesses, and no deductions, exemptions or credits - and - eliminate the tax exempt codes entirely. The tax exempt boondoggle, is the most abused part of our 3000 page tax code.

Who would dare whine about "fair and equal"? That's IS the American way, isn't it?

Do not confuse personal taxes with corporate taxes... that is like comparing a banana to a sail boat. The proposed “destination-based cash-flow tax (DBCFT)” is interesting. If you are interested, here is a fairly good web page: http://www.taxpolicycenter.org/taxvox/understanding-republicans-corporate-tax-reform-proposals But, those taxes has nothing to do with personal or individual taxes.

I didn't confuse the two, which is why I had suggested a personal tax rate AND a corporate tax rate. With no exemptions, credits or deductions, a mega corporation would pay the same rate as a "Mom & Pop" corner store, on every dollar. It couldn't be any more fair than that.

=====================
I one of those who pay 50% of the federal taxes. Every dollar of that I sweat it out. It is disgusting and ironic that those who march with violence on the streets, don't pay any dime in taxes. They free load. They don't even vote.

The democrat/communist/socialist/Islam leaders have encouraged, used them as tools to protest and march in violence against the American high-moral people who work hard to fund this government.

You know who are behind these criminals. They are communist Soros, Hillary Clinton syndicate of crimes, gangs of Mr. Obama, the MSM and their liberal fake reporters, all liberal women, the Muslims CAIR, MB's, and Islamists in the United States, Islam refugees from the Middle East, the illegal aliens from Mexico and the Hispanic community.
