Larry the Legend Loc: Not hiding in Milton

And on this day in the year 1918, less than seven months before the end of World War I, the infamous German fighter ace Baron Manfred von Richthofen "The Red Baron", was shot down and killed over Vaux sur Somme in France by Canadian ace RAF Capt. Arthur Roy Brown. In a subsequent letter to his father he wrote "We fought Baron von Richthofen’s ‘Circus’ ... in what was the most terrible fight I have ever seen in the air," wrote Brown. "We shot down three of their triplanes which were seen to crash ... among them was the Baron whom I shot down on our side of the lines."Capt. Brown and his squadron were flying Sopwith Camels.

"Brown, who returned to Canada after 1918 and lived until 1944 when he died of a heart attack at 50 in Stouffville, rarely spoke about what happened".

Ha! There's even songs. Of course, it had to be referenced on the 'Peanuts' cartoon, but still!
