Keeping your vows

Does your word mean anything to you? What is integrity and should you have it? Does God look with favor on those with integrity? The forth verse of the 15th chapter of Psalms ends like this, “He that sweareth to his own hurt, and changeth not“. The one time when we make a vow in front of God and man and later come to regret it is when we get married. But before deciding to break up the family let’s consider what God has said in His word.
If a man vow a vow unto the LORD, or swear an oath to bind his soul with a bond; he shall not break his word, he shall do according to all that proceeded from his mouth.
Numbers 30:2
When thy shalt vow a vow to the LORD thy God, thou shalt not slack to pay it: for the LORD thy God will surely require it of thee, and it would be sin in thee. But if thou shalt forbear to vow, it shall be no sin in thee. That which is gone out of thy lips thou shalt keep and perform; even a freewill offering, according as thou hast vowed unto the LORD thy God, which thou hast promised with thy mouth.
Deuteronomy 23:21 - 23
When thy vowest a vow unto God, defer not to pay it; for He hath no pleasure in fools: pay that which thou hast vowed. Better is it that thou shouldest not vow, than thou shouldest vow and not pay. Suffer not thy mouth to cause thy flesh to sin.; neither say thou before the angel, that it was an error: wherefore should God be angry at thy voice, and destroy the work of thine hands.
Ecclesiastes 5:4 - 6
Of the seven things that God hates in Proverbs 6:16 - 19, two of them are liars. In Revelation 21:8, all liars are going to hell. Christian growth, development, and maturity are not being taught. Our salvation ignores everything Jesus said and did. Jesus said it is finished. Anything done 2,000 years after Jesus died on the cross will have no effect.
