Beliefs are not the truth about anything

Belief: "trust, faith, or confidence in someone or something." Faith: "strong belief in God or in the doctrines of a religion, based on spiritual apprehension rather than proof." Trust is based on belief, and we come full circle. Beliefs often get in the way of seeing and apprehending clearly. They can serve as confirmation bias, limiting or impeding a comprehensive awareness and appraisal of what is for what one think's it should be. Beliefs will always leave us at a distinct disadvantage to realizing truth or facts.

When most Christians say, "I am a believer," most know not what they say. When Christ said, "Believe on me" the understanding was to be, act, as he was; it was not an intellectual accumulation of laws, doctrines, dogma, and scripture to argue or even guide. It was to be! The only guide is not what we understand or think but the Holy Spirit. Beliefs are meant to be temporary and a prelude to becoming, not a foundation. For the Christian, it is a direct relationship with Christ and not through the intermediary of belief. A belief is a doorman and nothing more. And a doorman that may bar the door to greater insight. Relying on beliefs to guide and instruct our lives is like relying on yesterday's bread to feed us.

The sole reason ecumenism will never work with Christians, or any religious group, is that it always rests on unifying beliefs. Beliefs are a sincere delusion that has mesmerized our heart, mind and soul. There are three frogs on a log and one decides to jump off, how many are left? Three--it is the action that makes the difference! Jump off the log.

If I had the belief I could be a great rock star, of what use is that belief if I did not or did? Beliefs are to be gradually shed in becoming.

No, I do, but they are just an introduction to truth.
