Matthew chapter 19

Verse 1 & 2

Jesus improved the lives of those around Him. If those in organized religion cared for the congregation, they would learn before they teach. Organized religion expects to get paid for the nonsense they teach. Some televangelist are millionaires from telling people what they want to hear. If you nod your head and say amen when told grace frees you from law, so it is okay to steal, murder, and commit adultery. Don’t complain when he expects the church to furnish a $65,000,000 plane. Jesus says, ”freely ye have received, freely give“.

Verse 3 - 6

Relationships are tricky. You can’t make your heart feel something it won’t. God hates divorce. Malachi 2:16 We should at least try to stay together for the sake of the children.

Verse 7

The Pharisees had this question planned when Jesus answered the question. They are trying to trap Jesus with words. An ant would have a better chance against an elephant.

Verse 8 & 9

Male/Female relationships are the foundation of society. It takes two to make a child, two should raise it. It takes a man, to raise a man, to be a man. Children raised by single mothers are at the top of negative statistic, but the bottom of positive statistics.

Verse 10 - 12

It is natural for a woman to desire a man and a man to desire a woman. Same sex relationships are unnatural. There are no lesbian lions, gay tigers, or homosexual gorillas. God is against same sex relationships. Thieves don’t form support groups. Every other sinner must lay aside the sin. If a thief doesn’t stop, he goes to prison. Yet we have a militant LBGT community. They can’t be decent people. They value desire above God’s word.

Verse 13 - 15

How was the Holy Spirit passed? Through the laying on of hands. Children should not be ignored.

Verse 16 & 17

The encounter is different in Mark and Luke. Of the 10 commandments the first four concern us and God; The last six concern us and everybody else. God knows we are all sinners but He meant for us to follow the last six commandments. In fact, none of us understand the commandments. We are taught that grace frees us from the laws found in the old testament. So it is okay to steal, murder, and commit adultery, however, grace doesn’t free us from tithing. The funny thing is tithing is not one of the 10 commandments. Jesus says in Matthew 10:8, “freely ye have received, freely give”.

Verse 18 & 19

In Matthew and Mark the last commandment has been replaced.. In Matthew it is thou shalt love thy neighbor as yourself. In Mark it is defraud not. In Luke only five commandments are given. In all cases the commandment omitted is thou shall not covet.

Verse 20 - 22

All his stuff got acquired through coveting in the first place. His desire for riches held up his spiritual development. A servant is not greater than his master. Friendship with the world is enmity with God.

Verse 23 & 24

At this time there were walls around the city. The walls contained two gates. A larger gate for large traffic that was open during the day, and a smaller gate that was open at night. The smaller gate was called the needle gate. Camels were used to carry items to be sold in the city. A loaded camel had to drop it’s burden and get on it’s knees

Verse 25 & 26

None of us can know we are saved. We repent of sins without knowing what is a sin and what is not. We think drinking and smoking are sins but legalize abortion and same sex marriage.
There is nothing from without a man, that entering into him can defile him…
Mark 7:15
God hates the shedding of innocent blood.
Proverbs 6:17
Thou shall not lie with mankind as with womankind.
Leviticus 18:22

Verse 27 - 30

The last person who should be teaching bible is one who doesn’t understand the bible. When a person understands, he will upset deceived minds. They will look through his whole life for any sin they can find. If they can’t find any, they will just make something up. But only those who understand should teach. With everything else, you can’t coach unless you have played. We have pastors who teach with no bible. How can you teach the will of God without the word of God? Read Isaiah 8:20 and Psalm 40:7
